Orphan 10/10 For the horror genre, the first movie that we will be covering is Orphan, 2009. The movie was directed by Jamie Collet-Serra. This film is a psychological horror movie because it frightened the mental state of the audience. Orphan is about a family ruined by a nine-year-old Russian girl. It began when the Coleman couple lost their third daughter, Jessica, as a stillbirth. Out of guilt, the Coleman couple decided to adopt a girl from the local orphanage. They had reached an agreement to adopt the nine-year-old girl, Esther. A few months later, they started to realize that Esther’s behaviour is far more mature than the average girl of her age. The family noticed that all of the recent accidents happened with the presence of Esther. Later, they found out that Esther is a 33-year-old woman with hypopituitarism, meaning that her body retains the figure of a little girl. The story continues as the Coleman family survives the killing attempts by Esther. My thoughts regarding this movie are that most of the audience has underrated it, and I recommend all of you to watch it. The Ring (2002) 9/10 Moving on to the next horror movie, The Ring (2002). This movie is directed by Gore Verbinski. I am sure that some of you have watched this movie, but I can guarantee that this is one of those great movies that you don’t mind re-watching. This movie is about a woman named Rachel Keller investigating rare death cases of her 16-year-old nephew and her friends. Rachel found out that all of them died a week after watching a mysterious videotape. Watch this movie to know how Rachel solves this haunted puzzle of the mysterious tape. In conclusion, I highly suggest you to watch this movie because the plot is very well done. In addition, my feedback is that this movie lived up to its psychological horror genre. Which horror movie is your favourite? |
