 Luca 9/10

Luca is an animated comedy and fantasy genre movie. This animated movie is written by Mike Jones and Jesse Andrews and produced by Pete Docter, and Peter Sohn before had straight away directed as an animated film by Enrico Casarosa. Luca was supposed to be shown in the theatre or cinema, the same as other animated movies but suddenly released on Disney+ on June 18 2021, because of the Covid-19 pandemic situation.

The reason why Luca had chosen as one of our reviews is, the story is unique. Luca is the main character who is the sea monster that can change his appearance as a human when he got dry from water. Luca and his best friend Alberto experiencing how to live as a human at the small town called Liguria during their summer break.

Raya and the Last Dragon 10/10

In Kumandra's mythical world, humans and dragons coexisted together. When the land was attacked by an evil power, the dragons sacrificed themselves to preserve humans. Now, 500 years later, the same evil has reappeared, and it's up to Raya, a lone warrior responsible for tracking down the final dragon and bring peace to the shattered nation and its divided people. However, she will discover that saving Kumandra would require more than just a dragon, it will also require trust and collaboration.

Raya and the Last Dragon is inspired by Southeast Asian cultures and locations. Sisu, the eponymous dragon, is based on the “Naga”, a creature that appears in Hinduism, Buddhism, and Jainism beliefs. The dragons are resurrected as well, with Sisu thanking Raya for her faith in others. Raya comes home to be reunited with Master Benja, who is Raya’s father, and all Kumandra’s people return to their families and friends. The plot, as well as the dialogue, is truly heartwarming.

Which animation movie is your facourite?
Luca
Isle of Dogs
Raya and The Last Dragon
